Ghost Inc. Glock 24 – Choice upgrades available

Posted by Ghost Inc on

Mention the .40 S&W today, and no one will give you a second glance. If you time travel back to the 1980s and bring it up among gun enthusiasts, you would be laughed out of existence or sent away somewhere to recover.

The .40 S&W has carved itself a nice niche among shooters and law enforcement alike. The round has excellent stopping power, better than the 9 mm and manageable recoil, less than the .45 ACP. Another distinct advantage of the .40 S&W is the round will work in its larger sized 10 mm frames, seeing that the .40 S&W is nothing more than a shaved down 10 mm round.

We have previously covered two other .40 S&W Glock models – the Glock 35 and Glock 34. The Glock 24 is the largest of them all. The 24 has the least Glock-like look of all Glock models. This means if you are looking for a concealed carry model, this is not the one for you unless it is the dead of winter in exceptionally cold areas where you will be wearing bulky clothing.

The biggest advantage of the Glock 24 is the length and weight cut down the recoil significantly. This is one of the reasons why the Glock 24 is so popular with law enforcement. The heavyweight also allows them to return to the target rapidly. This fast return is yet another reason why, you guessed it, the Glock 24 is popular with the competition shooting crowd.

Glock 24 Upgrades

The full-frame size of the 24 means some of the standard upgrades are ideal. Here are the ones that Ghost Inc. recommends. You are not limited strictly to these specific upgrades, as most other upgraded aftermarket parts available from Ghost Inc. will fit all Glock makes and models.

Glock 24 Magazine extensions

The Ghost Inc. magazine extensions for the Glock 24 add seven additional rounds to the standard magazine. Like all Glock shooters believe - there is no such thing as too much ammunition in your magazine.

Glock 24 Slide Release

The full-sized body of the Glock means the release is well forward of the thumb. For the shooter with small hands, having a slide release that is convenient for the thumb and provides additional leverage to release the slide.

Again, this will not make a huge difference in competition shooting, but it could shave an additional few milliseconds off of time. Milliseconds that could make a difference between placing or not in a competition.

Glock 24 Weapon light

Glocks and lights go hand in hand. The addition of a light really gives the Glock 24 something extra special, but there is a trade-off of needing a specialized holster for the light addition.

Weapon lights can come as a standard LED flashlight style, laser, or both. Which one you would like is up to you, but Ghost Inc. strongly recommends the dual function models.

MOAB Baseplates for Glock 24

For law enforcement in situations when they must depend on their service weapon, the ability to drop and reload with a fresh magazine could make all the difference when necessary. For the rest of us, there is something about the extra area and grip of an aftermarket baseplate.

Enter MOAB - The Mother of All Baseplates. These baseplates have special debris extraction ports on the bottom that help grip better as well as allow for lanyard or paracord attachments. This means faster time from the magazine holster to your Glock 24.

Ghost Inc. makes MOAB, so you know you can trust them fully.

Keep it in the ten ring!
