THE SPAULDING CUT FOR GLOCKS WITH ROCKETS AND TACTICALS ONLY

The Spaulding Cut

Normally we illustrate shortening the TCT until the pistol fires with no over-travel.  This lack of over-travel also results in a shorter reset. We have shown you to use a 90 degree or straight edge cut on the front of the TCT. This method works and is battle ax reliable.

What this Spaulding Cut has done is angle the cut rearward at about 5 degrees.  This rearward angle acts as a wedge that causes the trigger with bar to move up and forward during disconnect. This up and forward movement causes the  trigger with bar to be positioned right on the edge of the connector guide angle ready for reset.

This action makes reset movement slightly more than the thickness of the connector material or .035 of an inch or slightly less than the thickness of 3 business cards.

The Spaulding Cut

The TCT is cut at slight rearward angle and only works on the Rocket or Tactical connectors. Follow the regular ROCKET or TACTICAL installation Instructions except make your cut at this slight angle. Caution too sharp of an angle and your pistol may not reset.

To insure you did correctly test fire your pistol. If your pistol fires and resets during test firing then you are good. If you went to far you may be able to round off the top peak and still save the connector. Remember that we will replace the connector if you make a mistake that can not be corrected.

Always test fire your pistol after performing any work.
Note: This cut will only work on the ROCKET & TACTICAL for Glock Pistols!!! Not for Evo 3.5 or Pro 3.3

The Guide Angle: causes the cruciform/sear of the trigger with bar to move down as the trigger with bar is pushed/pulled to the rear releasing the firing pin and firing the pistol. Here is a description and pictorial of how the DS Cut works.

Firing

The trigger with bar is stopped by the TCT after the firing pin has been released, thereby eliminating all over-travel.

NOTE: the trigger bar is contacting the TCT towards the center of its height. The rear of the trigger with bar is in the middle of the guide angle.

Disconnect:The pistol has fired, the slide during recoil moves to the rear. The lobe on the inner underside of the slide cams the connector inwards via the reset/disconnect tab causing the trigger with bar to disconnect from the guide angle and rising up/rearward because of the tension of the trigger spring. These actions cause the trigger with bar to disconnect the firing function. This is where the DS Cut comes into play as the trigger with bar rises upwards and normally rearward the DS Cut causes it to follow the cut angle so that it moves upwards and now slightly forward enough so that the trigger with bar is now resting on the edge on the guide angle (instead of much more to the rear by about .060).  You can not fire the pistol again until you reset the trigger with bar by moving it slightly forward (.035) so that it contacts the guide angle. This when you hear your pistol "click". The click is the connector snapping out and causing the trigger with bar to reengage with the guide angle. With the TCT and the DS Cut the amount of forward movement to reset the trigger is approximately the thickness of the guide angle .035".

Reset: First move the trigger with bar forward until you hear the "click". Now to fire the pistol again you must move the trigger with bar approximately .035" rearward to fire.

Again you can not fire the pistol until you reset the trigger with bar by moving it slightly forward (.035) so that it contacts the guide angle so that the cruciform can be guided down and back to release the firing pin to detonate the primer. With the TCT and the DS Cut, the amount of forward movement to reset the trigger is approximately the thickness of the guide angle .035" or slightly less than the thickness of 3 business cards.

This a Huge improvement for Glock trigger reset!!
