Glock 33 Review

Posted by Ghost Inc on

The Glock 33 is the fourth iteration in a series of weapons chambered for the .357 Sig Sauer or Federal .357 round. It is what many people call a “baby Glock” due to its small proportions. As such, it is almost half an inch shorter in the barrel than the G32. The bottom of the standard clip is ¾ of an inch shorter than that of the G32. It is visibly identical to the G32 in every regard except the length of the barrel and grip. So what you’re looking at here is a powerful and snappy gun that is relatively easy to conceal and more difficult to handle.

As a subcompact weapon, it is in a category in which we find a lot of revolvers. That being the case, the G33 is likely to be the better choice because it’s lighter, slips into a concealed space more smoothly, and gives you four more rounds than most revolvers.

Glock 33 Small & Powerful

The one drawback of this weapon is that it is both powerful and small, making it difficult to handle. If you were to go to the range and test it next to a gun like the G32 or G31 and did not have good grip strength and control, the G33 might seem to be the clear loser in your mind.

That being the case, it is likely that many people are turned off by the Glock 33 prematurely. In reality, developing the grip strength and control reflexes to handle this gun is well within the ability of any shooter at any skill level. In other words, an initial impression may put someone off when, with just a few weeks of practice and hand strengthening exercises, they could easily overcome any difficulties with this gun.

That being the case, if you can fire the G33 or can learn to fire it, it is highly recommended. You will be getting all of the benefits of owning a Glock. These include excellent customer support, a massive list of possible customizations, and the accuracy and reliability that this brand is known for.

Glock 33 Cases, Ammunition, & Upgrades

For practiced shooters, this is an excellent choice for every day carry as it is light and powerful. For those who are put off by its snappy personality, if you were to spend some time with this gun, you would get all of the benefits of Glock in a comfortable and convenient package that is frankly very difficult to beat.

Finally, we come to the .357 Sig Sauer round. This is not as powerful as a .40 caliber round, but it’s close. The round is favored by law enforcement all over the United States, and the Sig Sauer company is known for its good quality control. It is an expensive round, so practice won’t be cheap. But many revere powerful loads like the .357 offers because it encourages careful shooting. After all, it is better to aim and hit your target than to panic and miss. It may take a bit longer to put a powerful round on a target, but when it hits, you can be sure it will affect when it hits. When it comes to self-defense agent attackers, power is what will save your life.

As with all Glock pistols, the G33 is highly customizable and upgradeable. Here are three simple, affordable items that can make a big difference in your effectiveness with this weapon.

Glock 33 Popular Upgrades

  • Slide Lock Spring: A useful replacement that offers better functionality than the stock version on some models.
  • Extractor Depressor Spring: Simple to install, the extractor depressor spring can improve the overall action and reliability of your Glock 33.
  • GLOCK 18/34/17 33 Round Magazine: Expand your G33’s appetite with this ambidextrous mag.

In conclusion, we recommend the Glock 33 to anyone who can shoot it competently or who is willing to put in the practice needed to become competent with it.
