Glock 34 – The Only Glock with a Singular Purpose

Posted by Ghost Inc on

Right off the bat, the Glock 34 is not for the average pistol owner. If you are looking for a Glock for a concealed carry, back up or home defense, this is not the Glock for you. It is simply not an ideal choice for those needs.

However.

Glock 34 Shines For Competition Shooting

Where the Glock 34 really shines is in pistol shooting. If you are looking into starting or are already interested in defensive pistol shooting, you need to invest in a Glock 34. The longer slide of the 34 makes this particular Glock model ideal for that very purpose. In fact, the Glock 34 is approved for USPSA Production, IDPA Stock Service Pistol, and Enhanced Service Pistol competition. This itself should be enough reason for owning one.

The Glock 34 Has an Original Look

The Glock 34 has one of the most original looks of any handgun, and most everyone has seen them enough to know what they look like. The Glock’s ubiquity and common use means one more thing about the firearm – it can be considered boring to some shooters.

This may seem harsh, but it is true. The base model Glock 34 looks like your standard Glock. Plastic grip and metal slide – all black to boot. So, if you have seen a Glock or owned a Glock, you know what the Glock 34 looks like.

The 34 holds 18 rounds of 9 mm in a double-stack magazine. This is a respectable amount for the competition shooter. The frame is slightly larger because of the double stack, so those with small hands may not be well-served with the Glock 34.

One nice thing about the 34 is the magazines eject easily without extended magazine releases. Again, in competition shooting when seconds count, the ability to drop and exchange magazines with a quick, smooth motion to return to your target is not only ideal, it is absolute. Springs in the magazines are also tight – again – a bonus for the competition shooter.

Glock 34 Upgrades

The full-size look of the 34 means this Glock is about as aftermarket friendly as it comes. You can customize this model to no end, but ultimately, the competition function of this Glock model means aftermarket upgrades designed around this concept of shooting. Ghost Inc. thinks these two are your best bet.

Glock 34 Barrel Upgrades

Competition shooters know a barrel can make a huge difference in the feel and accuracy. Glock aftermarket barrels available from Ghost Inc. do more for your 34 than look pretty.

If this is not enough reason, consider: The OEM barrel of the 34 does not take hand-cast ammo well. Competition shooters burn through lots of rounds, and the 9 mm reloads inexpensively. You can cast lead rounds for a fraction of what you can spend on standard ammo. Will this change your accuracy and efficacy on the range? You will not know until you try. One thing you will note – your wallet will be a bit heavier because of the $$ you save on hand loads.

Ghost Inc. offers plenty of additional upgrades for your Glock 34 above and beyond the barrel, but we think this is the best option for you.

In the meantime, keep it in the ten ring!
