Glock Sights Improve Accuracy & Aim

Posted by Ghost Inc. on

The Glock is one of the most sought-after pistols and is a favorite among gun owners due to the semi-automatic style and how many bullets the magazine holds. It is not your typical six shooter but modified for target practice and added protection when required.

The scope is a favorite out of the many  Glock accessories. It adds farther sight to the gun and helps with the comfort and accuracy of aiming for the target. As you can see throughout this article, there are different types of scopes that are designed for each specific Glock. Size, weight, and ease of use are among the factors that the owner should take into consideration before purchasing a scope for the Glock.

Improve Your Accuracy: Glock Sights & Glock Scopes

The three most common types of scope are the red dot, holographic, and magnified. All three have their own purpose and advantages/disadvantages.

Red Dot Sights

A red dot sight is a non-magnifying reflector sight in which the reticle is illuminated by a red light emitting a diode (LED) at the focal plane of the objective lens. Red dot sights are considered to be fast acquisition sights; they allow the user's eye to align with the target quickly and without having to center the reticle in the field of view.

This type of scope works best in close-range situations due to the fact that it has unlimited eye relief and parallax free. It is also very lightweight and does not add much bulk to the gun.

The main disadvantage to this type of scope is that it can be difficult to use in low light conditions and the red dot can be hard to see against some backgrounds.

Holographic Sights

A holographic sight is an optical device that is non-magnifying. It permits the user to see through a glass piece and see a projected image within the view. The holographic image shows itself where the user wishes. It allows the target's range to engage without changing the sight settings after each use.

This type of scope works best in mid to long-range situations. It has an illuminated reticle which makes it easier to see in low light conditions than in the red dot. It is also very accurate due to the fact that the reticle is etched into the glass, which eliminates parallax error.

The main disadvantage to this type of scope is that it is more expensive than other types and can be bulky and heavy.

Magnified Scopes

A magnifying scope is an optical device that makes distant objects appear larger by using a combination of lenses.

This type of scope works best in long-range situations. It gives you a clear and magnified image of your target which makes it easier to hit your mark.

The main disadvantage to this type of scope is that it can be bulky and heavy, making it difficult to maneuver. It can also be difficult to use in close-range situations.

Match Your Glock Sight to the Right Model

Now that you know the different types of scopes, you may be wondering which one works best with your specific Glock model.

Glock 19

The Glock 19 is a compact version of the Glock 17 and is ideal for concealment. The best type of scope for this gun would be the red dot sight. It is lightweight and small, making it easy to carry around. It also has unlimited eye relief, making it easier to use in close-range situations.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is a full-size pistol and is the original Glock model. The best type of scope for this gun would be the holographic sight. It is more accurate than the Red Dot and can be used in mid to long-range situations.

Glock 21

The Glock 21 is a full-size pistol that is designed for self-defense. The best type of scope for this gun would be the magnified scope. It gives you a clear and magnified image of your target, making it easier to hit your mark. It can also be used in long-range situations.

Be Sure to Do Your Homework When Choosing a Scope

No matter which Glock model you have, there is a scope that will work best for you. Each type of scope has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it is important to choose the one that best fits your needs. With the right scope, you will be able to hit your target with ease.
