The Legacy of Kershaw: Precision, Innovation, and American Craftsmanship
Posted by
onSince 1974, Kershaw has been synonymous with quality, technology, and innovation in the knife industry. At Ghost Inc., we are proud to carry a brand that has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a modern knife can be. More than just tools, Kershaw knives are a testament to a long-standing commitment to excellence.
A History Forged in Steel
The Kershaw story began in 1974 when founder Pete Kershaw, an avid outdoorsman, set out to create hunting and fishing knives with a guaranteed level of quality. This led to a pivotal partnership with Kai, a Japanese company with decades of blade-making experience. This collaboration laid the foundation for Kershaw's success, blending American design with world-class craftsmanship.
The 1990s marked a new era for the brand, with the introduction of modern features like the liner lock. The most significant leap, however, came in 1998 with the development of Kershaw's industry-changing assisted opening mechanism. This technology revolutionized the way knives were opened and remains a cornerstone of Kershaw's identity today.
Today, Kershaw continues to innovate from its facility in Tualatin, Oregon, upholding its tradition of "Made In The USA" excellence and bringing new designs and technologies to the market.
